A question about a certain deleted file...

Why was this file deleted? It's not yet obsolete. I think it's best to have the PNG back here and rather have the SVG file of the channel's wordmark on the articles for the channel's international counterparts.
~~LDEJRuff~~(see what I have contributed) January 27, 2010, 0:53 (EDT)

I don't know why did they replaced the 2007 logo with this logo. This isn't even the real logo, because it doesn't have the Mickey Mouse shape. The international versions should have the 2007 logo, while the USA will have the 2010 logo.--95.111.52.14 (talk) 09:51, 17 February 2011 (UTC)

The Disney Channel logo should be updated to the CURRENT DC logo (the Mickey Mouse DC ears, in a rounded box), the logo currently there is only part of the DC logo. - Nevandc98 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nevandc98 (talkcontribs) 04:51, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

Cable systems forced to carry Disney Channel to air ABC stations?

I can't find a reference, but I seem to recall sometime after Disney bought the ABC television network, they strong-armed cable systems to carry The Disney Channel. We are not here to memorialize every aspect of the network. Comcast/Xfinity Channel Number/Edit Request 7/24/14

It says that Xfinity carries Disney Channel on channel 25 according to the table on the main page. However, where I am, I get the channel on channel 45 on Xfinity from Comcast. I guess the channel spot varries on the location. Could the table be changed so that for Xfinity, it says that the channel number varries on location? I can't change it because I don't have a real acount (nor do I plan getting one) and the page is protected! --24.147.1.197 (talk) 20:20, 24 July 2014 (UTC)Jacob Chesley

  Fixed - The article had one listing for Xfinity, then a more general "check your local listings" note underneath. It doesn't make a lot of sense to include both lines, so I'm removing the Xfinity data and leaving the "check your local listings" wording, since that's apparently what people will have to do anyway. Unnecessary ephemeral content

I don't understand the additions made by WanderIsAwesome2001 here and resubmitted here. In particular I don't understand the encyclopedic value of discussing that right now, (i.e. an ephemeral statement) that there are only two series airing new content. So what? What does this original research contribute to our understanding of the subject? If media analysts, for instance, were making mention of this fact as a sign that Disney were in trouble, that would be one thing, but simply being important to one user doesn't mean it's worth including. And aside from the problematic grammar and tone, I don't understand the value that the other analyses add to our general understanding of The Disney Channel, specifically:

As of June 2014, those 4 animated shows air on Disney XD, while Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, and Wander Over Yonder currently air new episodes on Disney XD. As of November 2014, they're still doing that but they still air Phineas and Ferb, Gravity Falls, and Wander Over Yonder on Disney Channel, but as part of the "Disney XD on Disney Channel" block.

We don't need to add every single programming change to this article. In one year these changes are going to be meaningless, and even now there's no obvious reason this info is noteworthy. We are not a breaking news source, we are not a TV Guide, yadda. For these reasons I have removed the content again. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:04, 7 December 2014 (UTC)

A protected redirect, Disney Family Movies, needs redirect category (rcat) templates added and one rcat removed. Please modify it as follows:

  • from this:
#REDIRECT [[Disney Channel#Other services]] {{R to section}}{{R semi-protected}}
  • to this:
#REDIRECT [[Disney Channel#Other services]]

{{Redr|from related topic|with history|to section|printworthy}}
  • WHEN YOU COPY & PASTE, PLEASE LEAVE THE SKIPPED LINE BLANK FOR READABILITY.

Template Redr is an alias for the {{This is a redirect}} template, which is used to sort redirects into one or more categories. When {{pp-protected}} and/or {{pp-move}} suffice, the This is a redirect template will detect the protection level(s) and categorize the redirect automatically. (Also, the categories will be automatically removed or changed when and if protection is lifted, raised or lowered.) So the {{R semi-protected}} rcat, which is making this redirect populate the incorrect protection templates category, would be unnecessary even if this redirect was semi-protected rather than fully protected. Sadly, no, as Zap2it is a TV Guide-esque directory that's always changing. If we used the reference now, the content in the reference might change years later, making it unusable. You want to look for a paper like Atlanta Journal-Constitution, New York Times, Washington Post, or an online source. Never mind, I found the TV Guide TV listings, so I don't need TWC Central as my reliable source. Although I still want to know if TWCC counts as reliable.

Anyways, the Friday and Saturday schedules don't have any Disney XD shows for 9:00 and 10:00 PM, so that explains how Disney XD on Disney Channel is no longer a block on Disney Channel. 2600:387:B:F:0:0:0:BC (talkcontribs) 10:50, 19 July 2017 (UTC)

Is Disney Channel in the USA going to shut down?

To the Wikipedia Staff, Is Disney Channel planning on going to shut down either in 2020 or 2021 or possibly 2022?

The reason why I ask is because I've noticed Disney Channel has shut down in Australia earlier this year and now the UK Disney Channel is also shutting down.

Is the same thing going to happen to Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior in the USA? I have alot of memories watching Disney Channel in the 1980s, 1990s and early 2000s and I'll probably be sad to see it go away. Please let me know what's going on and if Disney Plus has made Disney Channel obsolete. CrosswalkX (talk) 15:46, 19 September 2020 (UTC)

@CrosswalkX: An international version of Disney Channel shutting down doesn't necessarily mean it will shut down in the United States. We can at best speculate, but until one or more reliable sources indicate that a shut down of the US version of the network is imminent, which would allow us to add such content to the article, I wouldn't be worrying about it. Is Disney Channel going to shutdown in the USA and Canada.

To the Wikipedia staff and users.

Ever since the launch of Disney Plus in 2019. I noticed that Disney Channel along with Disney XD and Disney Junior is shutting down all over the world in Australia, Korea, China, United Kingdom.

I remember growing up in the 1980s, 1990s up to the early 2000s, I used to watch Disney Channel and I have fond memories of the First generation and second generation Disney Channel. I quit Watching Disney Channel because they quit showing classic cartoons and old live action films from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s Disney movies and I lost interest since then.

Anyways Disney Channel used to be very popular in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, 2010s. But in the 2020s I noticed that people aren't tuning in the Disney Channel as much anymore. And Dish Network had a dispute with Disney Channel.

Is the Disney Channel going to make any announcement concerning the fate of Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior? Let me know because me and other people go to Disney Plus online to get caught up on the Disney movies, TV shows or shorts. At this point I won't be surprised if Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior is going to be off the air for good. And there will probably be Disney Channel memorial youtube videos. CrosswalkX (talk) 12:53, 22 October 2022 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a forum. Normally posts that don't address content in the article are reverted, but this does sound like a serious matter concerning the future of this network. Anyway, if Disney Channel were to announce its ending (in the US), there should be announcement in a reliable source about that, and at that time, such an announcement will be reflected in this article.
