Where is there a ref that says this group practiced cnnibalism? any supporting docs or cites? SatuSuro 12:59, 22 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

There is a very rare work by a man, Samuel Gason, who resided around the Dieri in the 1860s. In this pamphlet, Gason describes with detail (if I remember correctly) the cannibal practices of the tribe. Well this work has now been made easily obtainable for free on Google Books. This pamphlet by Gason is now a chapter inside another book, and here it is: http://books.google.com/books?id=RT8TAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=taplin --In case the link does not work, the book is Taplin's Native Tribes of South Australia.71.141.224.122 (talk) 02:11, 23 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Language is not extinct

edit

I visited Marree a couple of years ago doing training in computing and internet. I showed the people wikipedia as a site which was community oriented and it said that their language was extinct. I thought I removed that at the time but can't see any historical edit and it still says extinct although it says 'may be'. It is a strong word to use about a community of people especially if the fact is in doubt. I think it would be better not to say it at all if it is uncertain.? Gason 1879, p. 160-161. This doesn't fit the pagination given.Nishidani (talk) 18:00, 23 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
