Yes, that is strange. The Beatles album "Help!" spells the name "Lizzy", but I have no idea how Larry Williams originally spelt it. I think for the timebeing I will change the article to fit in with The Beatles, but if someone can offer evidence of it being spelt the alternate way they we can revert, when talking about the original song. Ok, I'm slightly confused now. On the Beatles album, the track is quite clearly titled "Lizzy" with a 'y', so for any references to that cover song it should still be spelt that way at least. Do we have any verifiable evidence to support the claim that it is infact spelt with an 'ie'? Searching on Google sends mixed results, but more often it is 'y' than 'ie'. I have finally moved the page back to Dizzy Miss Lizzy, since it is the only documented spelling for both Larry Williams and The Beatles I have found and has been recorded. That really should be the end of the matter hopefully. Gbrading ταlκ 12:35, 16 August 2008 (UTC)

When I google "Larry Williams Dizzy Miss Lizzie", everything comes up "Lizzy". In any case, since the title is a play on the Dizzy/Lizzy rhyme, it would seem reasonable to spell "Lizzy" like "Dizzy". (outdent) I don't think The Beatles Bible is much of a source. It's mostly material pulled from other sources, but those sources are usually not identified. The song is licensed thru BMI and if you search the BMI catalog you'll find that the song appears as "DIZZY MISS LIZZY". (There is an entry for the "ie" spelling but it's for a medley done as a cover.) I don't care enough to try and revert what you've done, but based on the BMI evidence the right name is "Lizzy". If you leave it as "Lizzie", you ought to go fix all the redirects you've created by moving it, as I explained on your talk page. — John Cardinal (talk) 12:45, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Guess what I found? An actual Larry Williams 7" with "Dizzy Miss Lizzie" printed on it! A friend of mine came by to give away some of his albums and that was included.

One of the Beatles' best recordings?

I've not seen this quote from Macca before, but did he mean 'Best of the Beatles live studio recordings', i.e. all four of them playing, and no or few overdubs or effects? Thus capturing the old 'raw' Beatle sound? According to Lewisohn's Complete Beatles Recording Sessions, Lizzy (with a 'y') was done in one session, though in seven takes. There are some among us who would say Long Tall Sally and Slow Down would be their best live studio rockers, and I'd add to that tally Money and the immortal Twist and Shout but of course, these are matters of taste.
