Continued existence?

This appears as a name on OS maps from 1875-1954 as can be viewed here, at the place which the coords currently point, 52°59′18″N 2°35′07″W, which is the place where the words "Dodd's Green" consistently appear on the maps, and as the name of a Doddsgreen Farm located at 52°59′40″N 2°34′48″W. But starting with the 1964 1:2,500 map viewable at that site, the name vanishes except for its use with Doddsgreen Farm, and the name Gridley Green starts to appear in the area (but placed just south) of where "Dodd's Green" had previously appeared. Here's what I think (and it's all speculative original research at this point and cannot be used in the article): Though it became associated with the area, I think "Dodd's Green" was actually the name of the house located at 52°59′15″N 2°35′08″W, but sometime around 1954-1964 that name was dropped and either the name of one of the other houses in the immediate area began to appear on the map or, more likely, Dodd's Green house was renamed to Gridley Green. (The house that's there now can be seen in Google Street View and has a name on the front that can't quite be made out but could be Gridley.) If that's the case, then the house could have still given its name to the locality (and the fact that the road through the area is named "Dodd's Green Road", which would seem to me to be unlikely if the name only ever applied to the house, adds some substance to that possibility). On the other hand, the fact that the name has vanished from the OS maps makes one wonder why it would have been removed if the OS ever considered it a name for the locality, as opposed to the house. Looking at the planning maps accessible via Cheshire East interactive mapping, it looks as if "Dodds Green" remains represented by Dodds Green Farm, a cluster of nearby residential buildings including Dodds Green Cottages, as well as Doddsgreen Methodist Church a little south down the lane. I'd say by local standards it remains a small settlement. Whether such small settlements should have their own article or should be covered within the civil parish is another, more general, question. Ah, I see what you mean, poking around your map link and Vision of Britain some historical OS maps mark it on top of Grindley Green in Dodcott cum Wilkesley CP. However, earlier OS maps (at VoB) mark it in the modern location in Newhall CP, with Grindley Green appearing instead. I've tried to reflect this in the article.
