Proposed additions
editFirst I found a pictures. I don't understand the language but here they are [1]
Second I think their should be a section on the criticisms of Dog Spinning, but I am concerned about it being POV, since I find this practice very offensive and cruel.
I would greately appreciate some assistance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ratherhaveaheart (talk • contribs)
- I added some info from the page you refer to (thanks!), plus the two pages from the Swedish newspaper which it refers to, and added these as references.
- In order to avoid POV, I simply included a quote from Dr Caroline Lucas from the Green Party press release already linked, which criticises the practice. --David Edgar 11:59, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for helping me, did you have an opinion on the images I don't know how to put them in an article or if it is against the rules Ratherhaveaheart 22:27, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- They certainly provide useful context and evidence. Unfortunately, however I think they're copyrighted (in the Aftonbladet article they're marked "Foto: EPA" and the article is copyrighted), so we can't use them - they don't appear to be under a free license or public domain (see the image use policy), and I don't believe we can count them as fair use either.
- I think for the moment we have to make do with referencing the pages in which they're found. --David Edgar 08:45, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
POV
editThis article is POV. Who are you or the BRITISH animal welfare orgs. to judge another culture like that???212.62.51.85 (talk) 17:56, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
Those bastard make same problem in China, say no eat cat but westerner eat kangaroo and llama and goat cheese they have no problem. Who is the true barbarian? They is the true barbarian!!! 123.120.169.9 (talk) 15:40, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I too think the article is completely one-sided and utterly POV. It would be great if, say, the article on the Spanish corrida or any other tradition that involves possible animal cruelty, was that POV'd, but this is not the case. The article also mentions nothing on the ethnographic significance of the custom, it's meaning and the fact that it's actually mentioned in the cultures of many villages in Thrace. Nothing is said about the way the ritual has evolved in the past two years, especially in 2012, literally a week before I write this. I strongly suggest that the British animal welfare organisations get more concerned with the foxes in Headington, Oxford, for example, than spawning one-sided bigot articles on Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.204.88.205 (talk) 12:34, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- This article describes a tradition and details some recent reactions to the tradition in a factual manner. It would be great to add more about the ethnographic significance and history of the tradition, and more about how it has evolved in the past two years, if reputable sources can be found to provide that extra information. Wikipedia, and its talk pages, is probably not the most appropriate or effective place to make suggestions to animal welfare organisations nor to protest about their actions. mooncow 21:04, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
