Dog Run
edit"Dog Run House" should redirect here, as the term "dog run" is commonly used for this style of house in some parts of Texas and other states. --70.240.67.167 (talk) 23:00, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Possum Trot
editCould some architectural maven please contrast this with the similar (identical?) "possum-trot" house plan? If identical, should get linked here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hupasiyas (talk • contribs) 16:56, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
- Had a hard time finding sources, but I did find one. I'll add it as another a.k.a. Altairisfar (talk) 17:04, 17 July 2011 (UTC)
Surviving homes
editAs I know of about 20 surviving dogtrots in just a 20 mile radius in Central Louisiana, some of which are still lived in by descendants of the families that built them, so unless my experience is unique, there are likely still thousands of dogtrot homes scattered around the lands settled by folks of the Uplands South culture, I suggest this be limited to public examples of dog trot houses.
- I agree completely, they should be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a state-level register, or be somehow extremely culturally significant in order to be included. I know of at least 40 surviving examples in the southwest Alabama tri-county area of Marengo, Clarke, and Wilcox counties. Altairisfar (talk) 20:42, 28 June 2014 (UTC)
