Lack of picture
editIs there a reason there's no picture of the gem? I have one I personally took a couple of years ago, and I could upload that. I'm not sure if there's a reason for it, as most of these famous gems have photos. Just want to be safe. Thanks! General Kipicus (talk) 15:45, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- Feel free to upload it. Torimem (talk) 15:54, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yes, please do upload your photo. In the past I had attempted, and failed, to locate a photo that clearly had no copyright restrictions. • Astynax talk 15:56, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Astynax Well, here it is, finally. It's been uploaded to Wikimedia. You can find it at https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Dom_Pedro_Aquamarine.jpg
- Trying to figure out how I should format the link (thumb, orientation, etc) is giving me a headache, so I think I'm giving up here.
- It's not an incredible photo, but it's something. Next time I visit I'll snap a better picture. I think it'll do in the meantime, though. General Kipicus (talk) 16:31, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- That certainly represents an improvement. Thank you! If you do go again, I think a photo of that original crystal at the bottom might make another good pic to add. • Astynax talk 15:32, 21 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Astynax Good to know about that recommendation! I'll definitely follow it. I was planning on either going back or to the Dulles Air & Space Museum tomorrow/the day after, so I might be able to get it very soon. It was just serendipity the only pictures I took on that visit were of the aquamarine (yes, that was it. I took four photos and two were blurry). There's a lot of problems I have with the photo that I'd have avoided if I knew it was going on Wikipedia. General Kipicus (talk) 01:11, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- @Astynax I took the picture for the page yesterday, and it's far better! Just figured I'd use this thread to notify you if you want to have a look. General Kipicus (talk) 16:25, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
- That is a great improvement. Thank you for doing that! • Astynax talk 18:19, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
