  •   Article length, expansion, and expansion start date okay per DYKcheck tool. Article sourcing and neutrality okay and no evident signs of copyvio. QPQ done. Hook length okay at 133 characters, neutrality okay, sourcing okay. Hook interest level isn't that great per se but the title of the work should pull some readers in just by itself.
@BuySomeApples: Beyond the DYK criteria, the article itself could use a few improvements. The number of stories/poems in the anthology should be given. Whether all of these are appearing for the first time, or whether some or all have been published before, should be stated. The name of the writer of the story "Unclean" that is mentioned should be given. The infobox says origin is Nigeria but from what I see the publisher is located in Louisville, Kentucky. Additional categories could include Category:2020 short story collections and Category:2020s science fiction works. Footnote 5 is missing a publisher and the newspaper names in footnotes 2 and 4 should be in italics. Wasted Time R (talk) 01:03, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Hi @Wasted Time R: Thanks for the review! I'm still improving the page, but it was pretty rough to begin with (just two sentences and a notability tag). I don't notice that Nigeria was in the infobox, but I'll doublecheck its info. The review cited didn't name the author of Unclean, but I was able to find it elsewhere. I know ALT0 has already been approved, but I added ALT1 to be a bit more interesting (I'd worried it might be too "heavy"). BuySomeApples (talk) 02:22, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I do see the work that is being done on the article and I am glad that the article exists and will survive notability checks. The contents section is definitely a good addition and I see that the other items were taken care of. More questions regarding the infobox: Why is Joshua Omenga listed as an editor? His name is not on the cover. And per the Amazon listing for it here, it is available as a paperback in addition to an e-book and it is 264 pages not 537 pages. As for the hooks, I missed it initially but the title of the work needs to be in italics. And I don't like the ALT hook because it's not specific to the African-related nature of the work whereas the original hook is. Wasted Time R (talk) 12:09, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wasted Time R, I have made the amendments based on your recommendation. Reading BeansTalk to the Beans 13:06, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
To me, ALT3 kind of implies that the burns have some kind of connection to the subject of the 1619 Project or to African-related sf, which as I understand they do not. But others may feel differently. Anyway, in the end it's the DYK promoter who decides which hook to run with. Wasted Time R (talk) 23:14, 4 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
