Notability, etc.
editI looked up this article because I've just bought one of Mr. Gutteridge's books and was astonished to see a Notability warning and a Close Connection warning.
I cannot imagine how a Professor Emeritus at a top-tier Canadian university could possibly not be considered notable for Wikipedia's purposes, particularly given his voluminous writing in many different fields.
It is possible, of course, that the 'Close Connection' warning is correct, but no supporting evidence is cited. The objector couldn't even be bothered to comment on the talk page!
