This entry is just a reprint of the article at The Crime Library (the single External Link). Shouldn't the entry be original writing? A web search revealed several links relating to Donald Harvey, so there seems to be plenty of information available. Also, the entry does not seem like an encyclopedic entry as much as a newspaper article. Misterfilmgeek 14:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Word Change

edit

In the Modus operandi section it says 'Harvey was a different kind of hunter and in order for him to get hold of his prey, he had to first find the right environment' This could be worded far better, changing the words hunter for killer and prey to victims. --McNoddy 13:39, 24 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Donald Harvey.jpg

edit

Image:Donald Harvey.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fines?

edit

Why are his fines in £? panth0r (talk) 22:07, 15 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

3 life sentences

edit

According to Discovery, he is serving three life sentances. Also his lawyer claims that his total count of murders to date is 68. Although Harvey claims many more up to 87 his lawyers total count is 68. The three life sentance not four, came when they took a plea aggrement to avoid death sentence. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Teedawg (talkcontribs) 03:36, 24 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

medical professional

edit

What, exactly was he? It says he "started" as an orderly; was he an orderly throughout, or did he become a nurse, doctor, etc? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.8.204.9 (talk) 12:55, 10 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Can anyone who cares, check the last 7 edits by the same person? They look suspicious to me. Good luck with this subject, Super48paul (talk) 15:25, 13 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

NB removal

edit

I removed the NB text from the article, as it had no reason to be there. The two articles are fairly similar, although the other describes Harvey as a "homosexual and occult enthusiast." Both articles have serious problems with lack of references.

Here's the text I removed: NB: The information contained in this article is quite different from the french version, which happens to match that of Stéphane Bourgoin, a world renowned serial killers expert. I suggest also reading the Google translation of the french version to at least cross check both.

Cause of death in infobox

edit

Should the cause of death in the infobox read as blunt trauma or as beaten to death in prison? I'd contend that we should go with the latter (or some similar phrase like prison assault). I just don't think that blunt trauma helps our typical reader quickly understand what happened to Harvey, while the latter phrasing helps to distinguish his death from one originating from other circumstances leading to blunt trauma (fall, blast injury, etc). Birthplace

edit

@Fardorocha90: thank you for the correction (assuming it's correct), but saying "per records" in an edit summary isn't terribly helpful. Could you please follow the instructions at Help:Referencing for beginners to add a citation to the records you're referring to? -- Fyrael (talk) 18:39, 30 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

I was prepared to revert the user's edits, since it's a new account with edits only on this article. However, I found some articles that suggested the change is correct - problem being, 'suggested', not confirmed. I even did some deeper searches on newspaper articles from the time his crimes came to light - nothing conclusive, or from a reliable source. This really needs verification, but I couldn't find it. Yeah, after googling it myself it seems like he was only raised in Kentucky, but pretty clearly born in Ohio like the article already stated. I've changed it to reflect that with what I believe is a decent source. -- Fyrael (talk) 21:16, 30 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
