Fair use rationale for Image:DoomUKLogo.JPG
editImage:DoomUKLogo.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
regarding "In Popular Culture" section
edit- A reference to such an underground extreme-metal/punk band seems particularly out of place in a mainstream pop music video.
Doom is relatively well known outside the underground crust/hardcore/punk comunity. If a reference is to be made to the scene, Doom seems a rather obvious choice.
- Whether Lady Gaga is a genuine fan of Doom or if the jacket was pre-made is unclear at the moment.
The "sacrosant" status given to the band (and to underground bands in general) in my experience comes mostly from those not familiar with what lies further beneath the surface of the scene; it is therefore highly based on perspective, level of experience and personal point of view. IMHO applying a judgement regarding wether or not one is "a genuine fan" dos not apply to this article. Let alone the fact that tye concept of "genuine fan" is highly relative.
- However, the director of the music video, Jonas Akerlund, is former member of the Swedish metal band Bathory and could very well be the reason for the jacket's appearance in the video.
Not of much relevance either. Doom is a quite an obvious choice if one intends to refer to the late 80's scene. One does not need to have been previously involved with metal/hardcore/punk in order to be the one who came up with the idea. It could have been pretty much anyone slightly curious about the previously mentioned scene.
I have no suggestions at the moment. Did not edit anything wither. I just wanted to suggest a discussion on this particular section of the article.
Fuck Peaceville
editDid they get into some disagreements with the label? If yes, they probably should be mentioned.
Vocalist
editA red line needs putting through Brian Talbot's green one (or turn the green one to red and put a green one through it) on the 'member timeline' from 2010 onwards, considering he's been both lead guitar and vocals since. ElectricWizard 0 (talk) 15:12, 27 January 2017 (UTC)
This is the third time I've been completely ignored. How the fuck does a DIY encyclopedia work if you're all gonna be pig ignorant to factual information? Last time I took it upon myself I was shot down, so hows about telling me what to fucking do about it? ElectricWizard 0 (talk) 03:09, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
