Google check
editI am suspicious of a block of text dumped into a page without any edits to create a new article. So I did a Google check that a woman with this name appears on none wiki sources with Kafka and on a couple of strings in the article and google did not return a match other than this wiki article:
- about 1,080 English pages for Kafka "Dora Diamant" -wikipedia
- 1 English pages for "mother's death around 1912, the family relocated to Bedzin"
- 1 English pages for "She gave birth to a daughter, Franziska Marianne Lask"
Fair use rationale for Image:Kafkaslastlove.jpg
editImage:Kafkaslastlove.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
Her birth year
editThe link in footnote 1 to the Kafka Museum says 1903. I googled "Dora Diamant birth date," and most of the hits said 1898. Kathi Diamant's book says 1902 on the back of the title page but 1898 in the text at page 4. I have no idea when she was born, but perhaps someone has an authoritative source. - On the face of it, they're both WP:RS. Btw, the book seemed to hint that the 2 Diamants are not related, which was my first assumption. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 17:13, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- Note that page 16 says "Her birthdate is listed as March 4, 1898." That can be read as some skepticism. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:09, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Maurice Magnus Aha:[1] check page 3, footnote 4. Should be WP:RS, what do you think? Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:18, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Gråbergs Gråa Sång I suggest that we retain 1903, although perhaps with "c." in front of it, and then and insert another footnote, quoting all of n.4, attributing it, of course, to "Franz Kafka and the Third Reich in Berlin." Good find. Here is something else interesting, but I am not suggesting we add it to the article. At the top of page 156 of Kafka's Last Love, Kathi Diamant writes that, in 1926, Dora gave her birthdate as 1899, "one year later than her actual birth year. The process of shaving years off her true age had begun." I'm reading Kafka's Last Love now, and I'm up to page 156. Perhaps I'll read later that she shaved another year off to make it 1900, then 1901, 1902, and finally 1903. As for the two Diamants being related, the book does more than hint. On page xiv, Kathi writes, "I still don't know if I'm related to her." She wrote that in December 2002; who knows whether she has learned anything more since then. - I'm ok with that, Template:Efn can be used. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 18:58, 1 March 2023 (UTC)
- @Gråbergs Gråa Sång Would you make the edit please? You are obviously more knowledgeable than I am with templates.
