editShe is a real author, I'll source it and clean this up a bit. Nick mallory 06:10, 30 May 2007 (UTC) HOW OLD IS SHE ?
- I'm not disputing that she is real, but whether she is notable. Have her books been on a best-seller list, or even close? I admit that the additional citations help quite a bit, but I still think that notability is borderline. It's enough to remove the speedy delete tag, but I'm still watching for authors to make a better case. Otherwise I might submit this for a formal AfD process in a couple of weeks time. We'll see how it goes — I actually can be swayed quite easily. Realkyhick 07:00, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for saying the additional citations help. You could have found them yourself with ten seconds googling of course and that would have saved you the trouble of slapping the speedy delete tag on and then having to take it off again. The Wikipedia guidelines for notability say someone is notable if "The person has created, or played a major role in co-creating, a significant or well-known work, or collective body of work, which has been the subject of an independent book or feature-length film, or of multiple independent periodical articles or reviews." Koomson clearly passes that threshold [1] unless the Daily Mirror and a host of big circulation British women's magazines don't count for some reason.
- Since when do an author's books have to appear on "bestseller" lists for that author to be notable then? Top 10, top hundred, what do you want? Is that Wikipedia policy or just your own take on the matter? Put put it up for AfD right now if you still have a problem with it as I was under the impression that it's not up to you to decide if she's notable or not, but the wikipedia community as a whole. There's forty or more stubs on English novelists [2] you might like to put up for AfD at the same time if you like, as few of them have appeared on 'best seller lists' and many aren't as well sourced as this one. How about Frank Bullen [3], Carole Hayman [4] or Scarlett Thomas [5]? Nick mallory 08:35, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Dorothy is a real author. She writes every day and works very hard at her art. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.118.185 (talk) 22:04, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
