Appreciably this is a new page. I only came here because there was a link to this page from the article on the Monmouth Rebellion of 1685, when the militia then repulsed a party of Monmouth's foot and cavalry in what was the first combat action after landing in England of the rebellion. Obviously this county militia existed before the 18th century.Cloptonson (talk) 17:46, 29 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
