I feel as if "bench scraper" is less frequently used as a term for this iterm than "dough scraper." Google gives "dough scraper" 25,700 hits and "bench scraper" 16,200 hits. Amazon lists 21 for "dough scraper" and only 3 for "bench scraper." Agreed, "dough scraper" seems to be the most common term for this utensil. "Board scraper" is actually also more common than "bench scraper" as well, and a number of other variants I tried to add and clarify in the article. I've created and set up a redirect on "board scraper" and will go ahead with moving this article to "Dough Scraper" within a week since it's been almost two months now.

Additionally, does "pastry knife" actually refer to this object? I find four distinct tools using searches for that term and none of them are this object. The most common is the large open mixing head used in electric mixers for mixing pastry (not the curved, spiraled 'pastry hooks'). Another is a simple serrated knife design. The third resembles a serving spatula or cake server. Finally, it seems to be occasionally used for what's normally called a 'pastry blender'. Tofof 04:35, 17 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
