Anglo-Irish

edit

I'm restoring my edit of "Irish" to "Anglo-Irish" in reference to C.S. Lewis. He was born in Belfast (which is part of the UK anyway) but spent most of his life in England and pretty clearly self-identified as English. Calling him simply "Irish" is extremely misleading. Please respond here before changing it back.

"admitted"?

edit

Had Douglas Gresham previously denied being estranged from his brother? The use of the word "admitted" appears strange without better clarification.

I changed it to "acknowledged", more neutral in tone. Good suggestion. 75.161.233.85 (talk) 15:28, 22 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
I found a 2020 interview where Douglas stated his brother had died in a Swiss mental hospital, and had been paranoid schizophrenic. I added that info, with a reference, to help explain why brothers were estranged. Interviews aren't considered the best references, but I felt it unlikely that Douglas would lie about that. British biographer?

edit

How can he be a "British biographer" if both his mother and father were born in the U.S.? I know he moved with his mother to England, and was adopted by his stepfather. But, his parents were born in the U.S., he was born in the U.S., and he lives in the U.S.

Correct? Does he have British citizenship?

The original additon of the British biographer and British film producer categories was my edit. I may have been mistaken. Per the link currently in the References section of the article, Gresham lived in Tasmania and Australia for some of his adult life, and was living in Dublin, Ireland at the time that his book "Lenten Lands" was published. I do not know from which country he hold citizenship. I can try to check some other sources for accurate information. In the meantime, if anyone else has access to verifiable information about his nationality, please do update the opening sentence and the categories, and no offense will be taken on my part :) Thanks, WikiDon, for picking up on this possible inaccuracy. --Lini 04:31, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

BLP problems

edit

I found several blog/forum posts that were being used as sources. This is not permitted and per WP:BLP had to be removed immediately. Please reply here before re-adding them. I'll check assertions to remove poorly-sourced information. Wellspring (talk) 00:42, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Country of residence

edit

The first sentence states he lives in Ireland, yet the Personal life section states Malta. Where does he actually, currently, live? Improver 0 (talk) 17:34, 20 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
