Down New Impacts Around the World
editNew Zealand #9 (Over All)
Canada #14 (Over All)
Sweden #15 (Over All)
Belgium #46 (R&B)
France #73 (R&B)

- I checked official charts, and not a single one of these positions validates. He hasn't charted at all in New Zealand or Sweden, and his Canadian position is 25. Given that the post is false on every point I can validate, I see no reason to trust the statements about Belgian and French R&B charts.—Kww(talk) 19:39, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Well if you are a a fan of his on his Facebook Page, his new update included all of those chartings. Here is a link to his Facebook Page. http://www.facebook.com/jaysean?ref=ts and here is a link to the update that shows his chartings. http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=260333945299&ref=mf —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.156.77.197 (talk) 00:42, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- Why would I want to look at something that isn't true? I can look up chart positions without looking at his Facebook page, and I can tell you that none of the positions reported above is true.—Kww(talk) 00:51, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Why would Jay Sean post such a thing if the chart positions aren't true?
- Self promotion? He has charted in the UK, but no other European countries. His position in New Zealand is 18, as seen here. His US and Canadian positions can be found here. A lot of times, an artist will take the playlist from one station and try to call it the chart for an entire country. This kind of thing is the reason that fan-sites, Facebook, and MySpace aren't very good sources: people lie, and there's no one to check on them.—Kww(talk) 03:12, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- I take part of that back: this particular song wasn't released in the UK, so it hasn't charted there.—Kww(talk) 03:20, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up for me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.156.77.197 (talk) 03:40, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
- aCharts.us lists all and if not, most regions that the song has charted in here. • вяαdcяochat 11:04, 2 September 2009 (UTC)
RIAA certification
editOK, I'm confused. Universalmusic.com claims that it was certified platinum. However, the RIAA database knows nothing about that. Who is wrong? Thus far, the RIAA database was always a reliable, primary source for this information.

- I can't say anything about your related question about Tik Tok, but for Jay Sean, I tend to believe the claim by Universalmusic is false. If you look through the Jay Sean page histories, you will find numerous places where I have had to revert claims sourced to Jay Sean and his publicity campaign that were false. It's well beyond the normal exaggeration prevalent in the industry.—Kww(talk) 21:08, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
- Just looked for other sources on this one, but only found a vague press release on Reuters. So alright, I'm back to trusting the RIAA database when it comes to this. :)
