Choice article bro' - will take a wee look and jot some notes, make striaghtforward copyedits and please revert if I inadvertently change the meaning....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 20:38, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Meld lead into 2-3 paras Done
  • Common names not in italics - also style-wise best to do common name (scientific name)
Even when there are several common names?
Well...just choose one or put scientific name last. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 05:01, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
This isn't really necessary is it? Banksia cuneata doesn't do this for example. Same with Banksia dentata and Banksia coccinea.
Ah yeah, I should have clarified. You can just leave out common names altogether yes. I often stick them in as you otherwise get a whole string of bluelinks....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 05:44, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Avoid abbreviations such as "don't" and "it's" Done
  • yards!? - feet/inches for imperial units. Done
  • It grows through a large vertical region, from sea level up to 1,768 m (1,934 yd) on 3–75 degrees steep gradients - Err...was source this precise? Usually if a round figure is given, convert to a round figure. So 10,000 ft is better converted to 3,000 m, not 3048 m. Need to get a sense from the source about the "best" intended accuracy. E.g. like this or this
Source said: "Dracophyllum traversii occurs on gentle to steep (3–75) slopes from almost sea level to 1768-m elevation."
  • As was the position of Anthony Peter Druce, who first merged the two species in an unpublished check-list in 1980. - this is not a sentence as main clause has no verb... Done
  • link subalpine, canopy, gradient, candelabra, habit, synonym Done
  • Don't link New Zealand. Linking localities such as Otago and Fiordland more important
  • W. R. B. Oliver is Walter Oliver - link in lead and body of article Done
  • Why does it die in cultivation - fungal/rootrot?
NZPCN just says it persists for a few months before dying
Well put in a time frame. I guess it is rootrot, just snooping around online....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 05:29, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ok I put in a time frame. Dracophyllum 05:54, 3 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
  • Ref authors should all be "Surname, first name" format.also need to fill out the 1952 Oliver ref - journal etc Done

Looks pretty good - the above stuff is all pretty mundane and straightforward. BTW/FWIW I generally try to give anything I review as big a shove as possible towards eventual FAC... Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 21:25, 2 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
