vandilism

Someone put 'Sam Donnaho Hater of DBZ' as the 14th DBZ movies. I fixed it. Ryu Ematsu

Someone put 'Jesse and wayne love to watch this show together on the couch at night' under International English Version. I got rid of it. Schaef Dogg 22:15, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Guys, it's called vandalism. Revert it and move on. Hell, you could even completely ignore it because someone else will eventually come along and revert it themselves. We don't need to mention every instance of vandalism on the talk page. // DecaimientoPoético 23:19, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Archive

I archived it. It was too long.--SUIT 23:36, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Please be advised: A vandal (IP1 IP2 IP3) has made an edit to this page which has not been reverted. See here. If this fact cannot be verified independently, it's suggested that you remove it. His word alone cannot be trusted given his contribution history. –Gunslinger47 04:54, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Spactoon broadcasted DBZ - see this Youtube-Video with the Arabic opening of Dragonball Z. --Al1976 19:28, 6 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the help. –Gunslinger47 00:02, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

if so then include this...

Did the Ocean group also dub the Frieza/Ginyu/garlic jr./Trunks sagas for Canada, or not? -- Captain Ginyu 04:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Themes

Is this section abseloutely nesesscery? It seems pointless to me. I went ahead and threw in a citation needed since it's all POV. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by GI Judd (talkcontribs).

I think you misunderstand the point of citation needed tags. They are only used when things like "The show then became second most popular anime in America" are included in the article and no proof is provided. You're making it seem like "Even the villains show fatherhood as a theme, through Freeza and King Cold, Babidi and Bibidi, Broly and Paragus, and Piccolo Daimaō and Piccolo Jr." needs proof of its factuality. And it is not POV (just in case anybody doesn't know what POV stands for, it means "point of view"). An example of POV would be "Dragon Ball Z is the greatest show of all time and is better than Rurouni Kenshin and Bleach combined." I fail to see how things like "Throughout the series, there is a strong theme that young people can accomplish many of the same feats as adults" or "Another theme is the turning of fortunes in a battle through desperation or righteous anger" classify as POV. // Sasuke-kun27 19:25, 22 December 2006 (UTC)
I agree that the Themes section is subjective and does not belong here without citation. I've always thought that the chief omnipresent theme in DBZ was a love of nature, which encompasses the bits about youth and fatherhood that are mentioned in the article, but I wouldn't dare to add it to the article because it's my personal observation, and I lack an organized collections of specific moments of the series that I can site to prove my point. --71.126.242.30 16:08, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
It seems that someone removed the section. I agree with the decision, but It would have been best had they made a note about it here.--72.70.50.238 20:23, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Movie cancelled

Wasn't the life action movie cancelled.Themasterofwiki 19:25, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

??--SUIT-n-tie 01:06, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

No it's coming out next year with Orlando Bloom as Dende

I'm pretty sure the movie hasn't been talked of for years, so I think someone should remove it. That or simply mention that it was picked up a few years ago, but it hasn't been put into production yet and doesn't seem like it ever will -Sinthesis- June 07, 2007

I remember that on the official site, the guy said he asked them about it and it they said they weren't doing it. Ryu Ematsu

i don't know about any of that, but i recall seeing the movie title on here a few weeks ago, and googling it only to find the first returned search result was an article in which someone contacted Sony pictures to ask about production of the movie. the response stated that Sony was no longer working on the movie and that, as far as they knew, no one was working on a live action DBZ movie. thank god. live action versions of anime always suck. if you don't believe me track down a copy of G-Saviour, the gundam live action movie. or you could find a copy of the unofficial Korean live action DBZ movie. from what i hear it sucked pretty bad.65.43.211.143 06:55, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
here's the "article" i was talking about: http://www.myfavoritegames.com/dragonball-z/Info/LiveActionMovie.htm 68.255.174.7 16:46, 25 August 2007 (UTC)

just noticed this

After looking at this article for the one hundred-and-somthinth time I realized the page doesn't say anything about what the show is about just some boring stuff about videos and the voices of the charecters. We need to do something about this. DBZROCKS 23:41, 13 February 2007 (UTC)

Umm, second paragraph? Teh Shingen 17:11, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

We should re-add the red links here. See Wikipedia:Only_make_links_that_are_relevant_to_the_context and Wikipedia:Build the web. A relevant quote: This can include people, events and topics that already have an article or that clearly deserve one, as long as the link is relevant to the article in question.. If the link remains red, that means that the web will be built when someone inevitably does create a an article. JRP 01:13, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

An when will inevitably be? These links have no doubt been here for at least a few years if someone wanted to create an article out of this they would have. Unless someone right now says im going to make a new article about one of the five or so red links we have we should delete it. besides most of the link are on obsure things. DBZROCKS 01:32, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Wilipedia is full of red links that will someday be blue. That's really the whole point. :) There's nothing to be gained by unlinking them and something to be gained by keeping them. So, please don't remove links to notable people and things just because there isn't an article yet. JRP 03:24, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
You mean Wikipedia--$UIT 03:28, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

DBZ DVD Widescreen

I'm not sure if it should be worth mentioning, but FUNimation altered the Japanese music in an episode. I was watching the Japanese version and I heard these people singing. I'm not sure if was choral or not, but it was in the episode where Piccolo died. I was thinking to myself that I never heard it before, so I turned it to the English dialogue with Japanese Music. It was the same music, without the singing. Then at the beginning of the next episode, where he officially died, the completely took away the music in the English dub. It's especially noticable when Gohan yells Piccolo in the English dub and "Uncle" in the Japanese dub. Should this be mentioned? Ryu Ematsu 22:07, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

It is already mentioned in the Creative changes section. DBZROCKS 22:33, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

I think you miss understood what he was talking about. In other words, FUNimation alters the Japanese music in the English dub on the seasonal Boxset. I read the creative changes section and it's not mentioned there.

The Z at the end

Supposedly the Z is only there in the anime yet the manga retains the name dragonball all the way through. should this be mentioned? also why is it like this?

yes it is mentioned. DBZROCKS 23:15, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
And to answer your second question, I believe it was to disambiguate the original series from this one. At least, that's what I heard. // DecaimientoPoético 01:29, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
Yes that is true and is mentioned also. DBZROCKS 01:37, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
