Origin
editMany towns in Macedonia (Greece) have names in the (slavic) Macedonian language and the Bulgarian language just like towns like Bitola or Izmir have Greek names, towns like Gdansk have German names etc. There is no reason to withhold this information from the reader. These names are greek griend!Sorry
Any verifiable data on the outsourcing of Drama industry to Bulgaria? --Vladko 04:18, 5 January 2006 (UTC) And what is "Macedonian fight"? - --Vladko 04:21, 5 January 2006 (UTC)
I've added a source from the international labour organization which is centered around the Mesta region of Bulgaria and the investments made there. It is from 2001. It was the best I could do at this time. Several articles on the economy of Drama exist but they are in Greek so I don't think they would be much help in the english Wikipedia. There's a türkü (Turkish folk song) called "Drama Köprüsü" (Drama bridge) which talks about deeds of a local Turkish man called "Debreli Hasan" (Hasan of Debre). Is there an actual bridge in Drama? --Gokhan 09:50, 3 May 2006 (UTC)
I Think Drama shouldnt be considered as one of the smallest cities in Greece.Actually is between the 20 biggest.
Trivia
editIn 24h I will create a trivia section in which I will add the Globetrotters reference. However, in my opinion it is totally unnecessary, as practically all the major Greek singers of every genre have performed in Drama, especially during the summer season. Moreover, the ancient Greek theatre of Filippoi is only about a 25km drive away and many performers (actors, singers, etc.) of global importance have performed there. To make a long story short, more important things than the Globetrotter performance have happened in the Drama area and therefore the reference to them should be DELETED. Kalambaki2 17:31, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I still think the Globetrotters should not be mentioned in this article. If anyone else agrees please say so, so that we can get rid of this nonsense! Kalambaki2 19:46, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just delete the trivia section, so you can be happy!!! :) El Greco (talk · contribs) 20:59, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok then! If there are no objections within 24h I will delete the Globetrotters! Kalambaki2 21:09, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Ok then, the Globetrotters reference has been deleted. I reckon the Exodus reference should also go, but before I start my new crusade against Exodus... I would like to say this... I think there is too much information in this article that belongs to the Drama prefecture article. For example, there is minimal agricultural or mining activity in the CITY of Drama and as for the Falakro ski resort, it is closer to Volakas and I think about 50km from Drama! I think I'll have a go one of these days at "fixing" (hopefully for the best) these two articles (city - prefecture). The prefecture article is probably copied from somewhere and has practically no links (it's almost just text)! I also have quite a few pics of Drama centre, which I will add. Hopefully soon. The Article Needs a Demographics Section
editIn order to give further infromation about the town it would be more proper to have demographics information of the town, which possibly evade possible total NPOVs. (cantikadam (talk) 11:53, 6 June 2008 (UTC)).
- It would be interesting also to debate the Islamic population there .--Prinkipas (talk) 12:35, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
Error in first paragraph
editFirst paragraphs says "it is only the third-largest in Drama Prefecture (following Kato Nevrokopi and Paranesti)". This is not correct. Drama is the larget municipality in the prefecture. Population Chart: Drama, 55632 Kato Nevrokopi, 8026 Paranesti, 1646 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Papadi (talk • contribs) 19:16, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
Edits april 2014
editUser IP 79.103... is obviously not acquainted with the WP:BRD principle: If you make a BOLD edit and is reverted, the next step is to start a discussion in the talk page in order to make a consensus for your proposed change. Repeatedly to re-introduce the same contested edits is counterproductive and obstructive.
Even if parts of the edits of IP 79.103... may be sound, I will revert them in order to start a discussion Regards! --T*U (talk) 21:15, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
