Literary Connection

Does anyone have any information regarding the apparent literary influences of the novel "Something Wicked This Way Comes" upon this song? Unless it is sheer coincidence, they are numerous. Several of the lines appear to be taken directly from the book.

Nothing in this article is on why the song didn't chart in the British charts, and why it got released four times in the Netherlands (1973, 1976, 1991, 1996), in the two last occasions twice achieving a chart position.
