editSam Hyde's prank Ted Talk seems to be notable enough in popular culture for it to be mentioned in the "in popular culture" section on Drexel University. - Given how it changed the perception of Ted Talks for millions of people, I would say it certainly had a lasting impact. Many people associate Drexel University with that talk.
