Other info

edit

I found this info on the dab, didn't think it was useful:

"** on certain hunts, the dozens of natives who mainly use noise to drive the game to the (usually white or autochtonous noble) hunter, who is often mounted on horseback or elephant (as on tiger hunt)

    • on a colonial plantation, (un-payed?) coloured assistant (sort of trustee) of a white overseer, e.g. about four times as many in British Jamaica, helping to whip his own kind into productivity and obedience
    • A signal amplifier may be referred to as a driver.
    • JDBC driver - a software that allows applications to connect to a database"

Last Name

edit

There are loads of people with Driver as the last name not listed here! Please can someone list them!

Please don't unless they are notable enough to have Wikipedia articles! Notinasnaid 21:49, 15 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

The term Driver is commonly used in the business world.

edit

In business, the term Driver is used to describe something that causes or contributes to something else (e.g. a business driver used to strategy, a driver of demand, etc.). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 198.176.189.201 (talk) 20:45, 18 December 2006 (UTC).Reply

I don't doubt what you say. This page, however, is a disambiguation page. That means its content is driven (pun accidental) by the titles and content of existing Wikipedia articles. There aren't currently any articles called "business driver" or "demand driver", so there can't be references to them. There is Cost driver, which is a start. The way forward is to create the other articles, then the disambiguation page can certainly have links to them. SamuelTheGhost (talk) 21:35, 19 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

One of the most useless DABs I've seen - partial matches

edit

I added the cleanup tag, and just came back to fix this DAB. As per my edit summary, I removed the silly number of partial matches clogging up this DAB. I see others have tried to remove these before and been reverted [1]. Can we talk here if there is any difference of opinion of excluded items - in line with WP:MOSDAB.
