Emo influences?

I believe this song to be in the emo genre, or at least have emo influences due to the pensieve lyrics and Sykes' emotional delivery; however I don't wish to change it as others may disagree.

I don't agree. Possibly Post-hardcore (which is a parent genre of Emo), but I'm even hesitant on that. I'm really unsure, a lot of there songs have very deep lyrics, though I'm not sure if that qualifies them for the Emo/Emocore/Post-hardcore genre.

Genre: Pop punk?

I do not think this sounds anything like pop punk. I realize what the citation says, but it still sounds nothing like pop punk. It also was called pop punk-leaning, which I don't know if that makes any difference. Since genres are often subjective labels, you'll need more than simply "this sounds nothing like pop punk". Considering the definitions of "leaning", I would argue that pop punk is supported, even if not quite as explicitly as the other genres, so I just went ahead and changed the genre order. Thanks for the information. I have a question, however: Does a source count if it's just someone talking about it? It wasn't mentioned to be pop punk by anyone in the band (as far as I know). The band's opinion about the genre is something that might be interesting for us to relay to the reader, but it doesn't set the genre of the song. Rather, WP:SECONDARY sources such as reviews are what sets the genre for the song. Binksternet (talk) 06:04, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
