Prose Suggestions

• "and he assumed all his offices at the same age as him." perhaps "and he assumed all of his offices at the same age Germanicus was when he took those offices".
• "it should have reached Rome by 3 or 4 October." perhaps "would have" or "is likely to have", as its slightly more encyclopedic.
