Actually, there is a Russian Moskau YTMND on ytmnd.com. I'll try to find the link for it.

In addition, there are two versions, according to www.dschinghis-khan.de One version is by a Russian band called Accademia (band), and another by another Russian band called OSP Studia (Leonid Kaganov). Not notable as a YTMND Fad

In a google search for "dschinghis khan", YTMND does not appear on the first or even second page. It is not notable in relation to the article. In addition, linking to anything containing that much of their songs is blatantly illegal. --DJH47 06:48, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

I don't think a google search is a valid test to see if something is noteworthy or not. As long as YTMND has a page up on Wikipedia it should be linked to when appropriate. If you are so hung up about copyright violations you should also delete this link: COPYRIGHT VIOLATION DELETED as it contains links to the video and the YTMND. Compromise? I have edited the article so it no longer references YTMND but still recognizes the fact that the song Moskau (and therefore the group itself) have become a popular internet fad. The Moskau article still references YTMND but I have altered it so it is merely used as an example of the song being popular on the internet. About the Moskau video floating around on the internet; does anyone know when it was originally broadcast on TV & what channel it was broadcast on?

Moskau: Extended Version

Hey, I discovered something interesting about Moskau. Apparently, there's an extended version of the song. Normally, Moskau is 4:29 long, but this version is longer. I have a link to a video here with part of that version (it should be around the 2-minute mark):

Hah, I dowloaded a 8:20 version from iTunes. That must be the extended extended version.

There are lyrics to that on Steppenwind, I think. Also, the music that plays in the background is the melody to the extended one.

I know that rock 'n' roll did not exist in Genghis Khan's time, but who here thinks that Ögedei Khan was the so-called "Rocking Son of Dschinghis Khan"? If not him, then does anyone else have any idea about which of Genghis Khan's sons could be the "Rocking Son of Dschinghis Khan"? (P.S., these are serious questions) Sgt. Dschinghis Khan cover

It might be interesting to add a "Trivia" section, mentioning that a Japanese female group called Berryz Koubou covered this song recently. Despite taking the edge off the original to mellow it up to sing in Japanese, it's clearly a tribute to this great band and the eurovision performance. On the name change

I'd like to see this discussed. There is at least one record with the "Genghis Khan" name that was released in an English speaking country: the Moskau single released in Australia by 7 Records [1], but Reinthal should offer some sources showing that this is what they did generally in English-speaking countries. Merging Articles

Why have all the articles about the members (except Leslie Mándoki) been merged with this article? They should all have their separated articles instead of being merged into one. --User:Brianhardy44 February 9, 2010. 21:47 (PST).

Most of the individual articles were converted to redirects, either because there wasn't all that much info in the individual articles or because it wasn't properly sourced. Article Cleanup

I placed a WP:copyedit on the article as there are currently different formats of grammar used by different editors. I have made some changes to the article according to standards. I am still an amateur of Wikipedia, and still learning on the editing concepts and standards. I can do by best in helping improve this article and others.

The name change is ridiculous

Timeline - glitched LineData

The LineData in the timeline was glitched - The first set of lines have diagonal lines originating I believe from 1970 drawn over the text and disappearing off the left hand side. I dug through the documentation for the timeline tag, but I could not see what was causing it.

I did a no-changes edit and publish to see if it would regenerate, and it appears to be okay now.

So I don't know what caused that, but if anyone spots an odd no-action edit, this was why!
