Additional Airport Code
editXNB code is another code for Abu Dhabi International Airport. Flights to XNB are physically arriving to AUH, but include free bus transfer to DXB. Oddly, XNB is formally considered a Dubai International Airport code. Etihad Airways offers flights to XNB on their website, while major flight meta searches are ignoring this code and combining it with DXB. I am considering adding this code as an alternative to Dubai International Airport, instead of Abu Dhabi International Airport because this is how it is marketed everywhere. Let me know if there are any objections. Internetyev (talk) 11:12, 13 May 2022 (UTC)
FlyDubai
editDoes anyone know the correct terminal FlyDubai will operate from, because it is shown as it will operate from terminal 2, but according to the article terminal 2 is quite crowded. I can imagine them operating from terminal 1, as it will be easy for passengers to connect to Emirates flights operating out of terminal 3. 91.73.168.234 (talk) 14:56, 21 February 2009 (UTC)
Reverted edits
editI reverted the changes by the person at 195.229.241.169. I can only assume the person wished to whitewash the history of the airport. This person was coming from a UAE IP address. -Joseph (Talk) 14:14, 2004 Oct 29 (UTC)

This reads like an advertisement
editThis whole article reads like a promotion for the airport. Especially the introduction using phrases like "a new 140 km² airport that will help handle the influx of travelers well into the future", and the section about Dubai Duty Free. I would delete all of this crap myself but I don't have anything to replace it with. 90.192.7.142 20:21, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree 100% this article is not of a NPOV, people keep adding promotional rubbish to it. Over the last few days I have seen numerous edits that are not of a NPOV. Y4kk 19:08, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
- A lot of the problem is caused by the insertion of copyright material. Some of it is taken from the official site, in particular from here and here. Other material is taken from here. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 23:33, 13 May 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:DXB logo.png
editImage:DXB logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:50, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Images
editThere used to be many images on this page. What happened to them? Also, Mohammed Hasanie (Talk|Contributions) tried to add the images. Why were they deleted? I think that this article is better with the images showing the airport and all the construction. --Leitmanp 04:27, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

Largest city in the UAE?
edit"Dubai International Airport (IATA: DXB, ICAO: OMDB) (Arabic: مطار دبي الدولي) is the international airport serving Dubai, the largest city of the United Arab Emirates."
I wouldn't say Dubai is the largest city in the UAE. The Largest city in the UAE is Abu Dhabi which is also the capital. I'd edit it but I don't know what to replace it with :S —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.246.174.234 (talk) 09:41, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
- The statement is correct. Dubai (the city) is larger (by population) than Abu Dhabi (the city). But the Emirate of Dubai is smaller (by population and geographic size) than the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. --Leitmanp (talk | contributions) 21:12, 12 December 2007 (UTC)
Closed runway
editWhat is the reason for the closure of the runway? Could it be operated in the same way as Frankfurt International Airport with its runways quite near to eachother ? 84.173.227.20 (talk) 23:24, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
No, they were expanding it to accomadate the A380. Now its complete. (MoHasanie (talk) 20:02, 17 October 2008 (UTC));
Changes to article
editI finally fixed this article. It took me a few hours, but with some help from Master3049 i fixed it. (MoHasanie (talk) 20:01, 17 October 2008 (UTC));
I moved the basic info about the airport, to the start of the article(MoHasanie (talk) 18:28, 25 October 2008 (UTC)).
Terminal 3
editAt least one of the dates listed for the functionality of terminal 3 is wrong. I flew into DXB on Emirates on October 18, 2008, and I can tell you that terminal 3 was up and running at that time. I believe it opened on Oct 14th (the article notes this). Though there may be expansions to the terminal to accomodate the A380, Emirates only flies a couple of those aircraft right now, so there would not yet be a need for multiple, two-level gates. In fact, in walking the concourse, I didn't see any gates under construction, so I question whether the Nov 14th date that is listed in numerous locations is correct. Can someone find proof for the dates listed here? 71.234.109.192 (talk) 06:16, 9 February 2009 (UTC)
The article talks of a Concourse 2 directly linked to Terminal 3. But, Emirates webpage page http://www.emirates.com/cy/english/images/Interior_tcm299-368296.pdf with maps of all levels of Terminal 3 does not speak of a Concourse and shows the 26 boarding bridges that the article discribes as an integral part of Terminal 3. So, this section of the article must be rewritten as it is rather confusing. Q43 (talk) 14:47, 11 September 2010 (UTC)
Concourse A is not as long as Concourse B! The article says both are about 900m long. Concourse A should be about 600m. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.63.98.113 (talk) 20:14, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
Currency
editWhy are all but one of the figures in Singapore dollars? Was the airport built with money from Singapore? Enter CambridgeBayWeather, waits for audience applause, not a sausage 04:45, 14 February 2009 (UTC)
Importance
editIn the section it says "The following are for the months January to November 2008." What following? There are no figures following just a caution that the figures may be misleading. Enter CambridgeBayWeather, waits for audience applause, not a sausage 21:35, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
Encyclopedia article or fan site?
editGood Lord! What's up with the overly gushy praise of the wonderfulness that Dubai Airport is claimed to be? Half of the article looks like it was written by acrazed fan who just can't get enough, and the other half reads like an advertisement and seems like it was plagiarized directly from somewhere else. Does anyone know if this article has been looked at for acceptability and validity? Or should I start doing the honors? It is supposed to be an encyclopedia, right? 114.31.174.214 (talk) 17:37, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

75 airlines operate from Terminal 1??
edit75 airlines do not operate from Terminal 1! Whoever said that, should find a refrence, otherwise it will be deleted. --MoHasanie Talk 23:33, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
- Count them - see your destination tables: about 75 at T1 and about 25 at T2; less than 100 overall at DXB. If you magically find more, feel free to add them to the tables and update the number from 75 to whatever you feel like. Jasepl (talk) 05:44, 11 July 2009 (UTC)
Well, if you read, it says the lost is incomplete. AND you haven't provided a refrence anywhere for "75 airlines". Please find a refrence, or it will be removed and brought back to what it orginally said. --MoHasanie Talk 14:58, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Airlines and Destinationtions Table
editI believe that the current table should not be used. Many airprots do not use Airport-dest-list template. It is not compulsory to use it. Ir is only the preferred table. Changi Airport,Suvarnabhumi Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, Sydney Airport, and probably many more. --MoHasanie Talk 15:06, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- Great. But do you have a reason for not using it (other than "but XXX uses it - which seems to be your standard reason for everything)?
- Oh, and I suspect the reason why other airports "do not use it" is because users haven't gotten around to converting those tables into the standard format. It's an effort, so it will take time before all airport articles follow convention.
- Jasepl (talk) 16:08, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Well, the reason why i usually quote Changi Airport most of the time, is because that is the only GA class airport. This entire article was expanded using the same type of style as Changi airport follows. But thats not the only reason. I do not like adding subheadings for each terminal's airlines and destinations. Is there any way we can agree on the table. Both tables look exactly the same, but your version has subheadings, and follows the standard format. My one does not follow the standard format, but doesn't have subheadings for each terminal. --MoHasanie Talk 16:17, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
- First thing, it's not my version; its the project standard. And I don't understand what you mean by "subheadings" for each table or terminal. The project standard destination list simply lists airlines and their destinations (whilst allowing for additional columns, if required).Jasepl (talk) 17:01, 12 July 2009 (UTC)

well, if it was written by a "teenage girl" then why was the article moved up to a B-class ranking from the original start class? --MoHasanie Talk 11:51, 18 September 2009 (UTC)
Dimension
edit"The concourse is 924m long, 90.8 m wide (at mid point) and 39.5 m high."
- And that's just one example! Are you seriously for real? Jasepl (talk) 18:08, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
whats wrong with that? its quite informative. I think you're just against User:MoHasanie's edits. I've noticed you always contest his edits. --Master3049 (talk) 17:43, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't understand what it wrong with that statement. It quite an informative sentence. --MoHasanie Talk 18:03, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- Nothing's wrong with it at all. It's fulff, unimportant minutae, like a lot of the rest of the things you've stuffed in the article. Like some other user said above: 14-year old girl with a crush! I love that line! Jasepl (talk) 18:43, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Number of airlines out of DXB
editI'm changing it back to the official figure of 130 airlines. User:Jasepl you have provided no refrence for "75 airlines" so i'm changing it back to 130 airlines. --MoHasanie Talk 18:02, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- I'm sorry - but do you see 130 (or whatever) airlines? Count them - you probably created the table yourself. There's 75 at T1. That's it. Where are the others? Are they hiding? Is that why they cannot be found? If you say there are 130, then list the 130. If you can't find 130, then list the actual number. Simple as that. Jasepl (talk) 18:29, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but the list is incomplete. If you can provide a refrence for your 75 airlines atatement, then go ahead. But atleast i can provide a refrence for 130 airlines. And for your information i didn't create the table, i stay as far away from editing the airline table as possible, because i know you will definetly change and undo it.
- I'm sorry, but you can't claim one thing (referenced or not) and then list something else. That's not how things work. If you say there are 150 airlines, then by all means list 130. Else, list what you've actually found. Jasepl (talk) 18:44, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
I did just say i do not edit the airline table. Its not my field in editing this article. --MoHasanie Talk 19:00, 27 August 2009 (UTC)

editit says that it is the largest building in the world but if you follow the link to the page of largest buildings the "Abraj Al Bait Towers" is larger with 1,500,000 m² vs the 1,185,000 m² of the Dubai International Airport Terminal 3. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Borga2000 (talk • contribs) 19:30, 26 October 2011 (UTC)

Delete redundant section about airport ranking
editI propose to delete the following section in the overview: "As of January 2012, DXB is the 6th busiest airport in the world by cargo traffic,[10] and the 14th busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic.[11]" The information is based on its link factually wrong, redundant within the context above and adds little to no information. I think Wikipedia should not be mixed with Guiness books of records. Zugerbueb (talk) 04:33, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
Terminal 3 Concourse 2 finishing date
editThe concourse 2 is planned to be finished in 2012 and opertional Q1 2013. The current statement of: "Construction began in early 2008, and is expected to be completed by late 2011" is obviously wrong as it is not finished yet. Source for finishing date in 2012: http://www.ainonline.com/aviation-news/ain-air-transport-perspective/2012-03-26/strategy-revised-transition-dubai-worlds-airport Source for operational date: http://www.arabianbusiness.com/paul-griffiths-interview-dubai-international-airport-450978.html
Concourse 4
editThere are plans for a concourse 4. However currently earliest start date for building concourse 4 is 2015. There is nothing wrong on mentioning concourse 4 but it should be written in a much more matter of fact way. Plans for airports in Dubai have shifted many times and stating that works should begin in 2015 is indicating another shift. Zugerbueb (talk) 04:56, 6 April 2012 (UTC)

Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Security
editIn the Security section, it states a minimum penalty. This is untrue, as is stated on camera on the documentary Ultimate Airport Dubai on National Geographic Channel, the only penalty for using, carrying, or selling illegal drugs "in" the Airport is death. The series was done in 2013 after any of the other information in this section, therefore it is the most up-to-date and correct information. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MrTruth67 (talk • contribs) 20:23, 28 October 2014 (UTC)
It may be true that the only penalty for possessing illegal drugs in the airport is death, but the judge was quoted as saying "a minimum four years if it is for personal use." I reverted his quote back to that, because that is what the cited source says. If you want to add the information from the National Geographic documentary, cite that as a source.134.243.199.35 (talk) 18:42, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

I agree. Seems like vandalism to me. I'm pushing for the removal of that line. Foxhoundz (talk) 16:29, 6 August 2016 (UTC)
