redirect from Dubious Goals Panel
editafaik subject is the Dubious Goals Committee (also referred to as a Panel) so for now I've redirected the Panel page to this one, which I've just made being unable to find anything with "Dubious Goals Committee" search (d'oh). I've filtered the info from there over here. If anyone knows what the sign on the door actually says & finds a reason to switch the redirect the other way that's fine by me :) Hakluyt bean 16:49, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
contradiction?
editFrom the Panel page info I've mostly filtered in, I've left this part out:
- "requires the panel to judge whether or not to credit the player who takes the original shot or a teammate with a goal
- &
- The panel does not settle disputes between two players on the same team who both claim to have scored a particular goal."
This looks like a contradiction. Is it that the Committee only meets if there's a question of an own goal but can then decide 1 of 3 ways - own goal (Blue Team), player A, player B (Red Team)...? Hakluyt bean 16:59, 25 August 2006 (UTC)
Assists
editThis article says 'assists. These are attributed to players by their clubs.' But when you click on the 'assists' link, that article says they are decided by PA Sport. Unless PA Sport simply collate the data, in which case the error is with the ambiguity in the other article. Either way, there seems to be a contradiction. Selected decisions
editAnyone know why these (unreferenced) goals are selected when there must be dozens of decisions made by the committee by now?--Egghead06 (talk) 09:08, 30 January 2012 (UTC)
New Name?
editWhen I search for who makes these decisions in the English Premier League, the article I find is, "What is the Premier League's Goal Accreditation Panel?" from Nov 2019.
Has this committee changed name since this page was created, and should I update this page's name? Or are the two panels separate, but serve the same purpose?
