Categories
editThe category "Canals in England" has been removed from this article on the grounds of redundancy. The counter argument is that an article needs to be advertised in as many relevant categories as possible so that the maximum number of interested parties can find it. Instead of continuing to revert other editor's changes over and again I have opened this issue for discussion here. Martin Cordon 16:08, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- This issue is already being discussed on my talk page. Andy Mabbett 16:51, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Reluctantly, I have to agree with Pigsonthewing with this particular canal related article. Dudley Tunnel is a canal tunnel article. The relevant canal article, not yet written, is the Dudley Canal No.1 Line. There is also (not yet written) Dudley Canal No.2 Line and Lappel Tunnel. For those articles where I disagree with Pigsonthewing, I will undo his changes.Pyrotec 20:19, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
What does it mean?
editDoes anyone know what "The tunnel was reopened in 1973, at TRAD 1973 - Tunnel Reopening at Dudley as a result of restoration"? It makes no sense to me. I would rework it if I could understand it. Should the middle bit really be a reference? Bob1960evens (talk) 13:10, 17 January 2009 (UTC)
- Bob, The tunnel was reopened in 1973, on Easter Saturday (21 April 1973). The event was known as Trad 73. It means "Tunnel Reopening at Dudley"; that information is provided on the inside cover of the Dudley Tunnel Trad 73 book that I got with my entry ticket. (I was there, I have the book and the photos, but not the teeshirt). I'll try a find a picture for you, with the Trad 73 banner. Pyrotec (talk) 17:59, 23 January 2009 (UTC)
