due date is also a date of payment in finance and law, and I guess it could also mean other types of deadlines, isn't that so?ML-Est 17:45, 24 June 2007 (UTC)

I added a more robust general definition in terms of anything that has been assigned and is expected at a given time. I think it adequately covers that meaning Jeremyclarke (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 02:09, 13 September 2008 (UTC).
