Old photos
editI've found a couple of old photos before the second stage was built that we might be able to use,[1][2] if anyone thinks they're useful. -- Avenue (talk) 12:25, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- They'd probably be worth adding. The ones there I simply found on commons -it may be that a gallery at the bottom is needed if many more pictures are addded. Grutness...wha? 23:12, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
Floor plans
editPage 12 in this presentation on the redevelopment helped me understand the extent and relative position of the two stages better. Would a similar (or simpler) plan be worth adding to the article? -- Avenue (talk) 12:25, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- Certainly some form of simplified plan would be useful -I'd do one myself, but the pdf is having trouble loading for me (I'm on dial-up). Grutness...wha? 23:10, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
- Okay - I've added a grossly simplified plan (hopefully the right areas are marked in each construction phase). I hope that that solves any confusion. Grutness...wha? 01:06, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Dear Grutness,
It's great someone has added a plan but unfortunately it's inaccurate. It shows the Town Hall proper, the main auditorium, immediately behind the Municipal Chambers, which it isn't. The Concert Chamber/Glenroy is in there between them - transversely. Also, the main auditorium abuts Moray Place. There is no gap between the entrance and the street. Further, the Municipal Chambers doesn't have a rearward extension along Municipal Lane. That's the back of the Concert Chamber, part of the 1930 extension.
I don't know who did the plan but it would be good to have one which reflects the actual layout of the building.

- It's from the council presentation pdf which Avenue linked above. If I can find a more accurate plan then I'll make a better version, but it's a case of being able to find one. Grutness...wha? 23:23, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
