Covers out there

edit

did the eagles really cover this song??? i always thought that people just mislabled mp3's of the song, and thus spread misinformation. kinda like johnny rebel songs being attributed to david allen coe.

I don't know whether The Eagles covered the song or not, but I'm quite sure that Simon & Garfunkel never even performed it. Correct me if I'm wrong. Ivalo 16:08, 11 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Can someone name some of the bands that have covered the song. I know of Space Buddha, Emmerson Nogueira, Daughter Darling, Dana Winner, Chaser and Sarah Brightman (probably the best cover).

I think Cat Stevens covered this song also, or not?

My best cover of the song is the one by Melanie Cika Srba 21:50, 20 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Linkin Park?

edit

has anyone seen them do this song, because the only version of linkin park singing this is definatly not them? its kansas 75.108.50.217 (talk) 07:35, 23 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

The reason it's still on here is because they did do it. Linkin Park did do it. You must be listening to the wrong version. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.26.98.90 (talk) 22:14, 5 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Vocalist?

edit

Who sang this song? The article says who wrote the song, and even who played the viola, but not who the vocalist was.

dust in wind

edit

dust in the wind is by kanzas and as i know is the person who wrote dust in the wind got the idea of the song by a book that was about the native americans and the book had the title dust in the wind but there was other words with it too so the book was not just called dust in the wind so he did not copy the whole title. anyway dust in the wind you can play the song on the guiter even if you really really want too. i play the guitar but i am still learning how to play dust in the wind. so this is some things about the song dust in the wind!!!!!!!!!!!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.8.209.61 (talk) 15:38, 17 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Violin solo redirect?

edit

Why on earth does the term "violin solo" automatically redirect here? This is not, by any stretch of the imagination, a prominent violin solo in the world of music by anybody's standards.74.228.64.159 (talk) 18:54, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Dates

edit

The lead says it was released in 1977 but the infobox says it was released in 1978. Viriditas (talk) 07:49, 14 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

The single was released in 1978, but the song was first released on Point of Know Return in 1977. The article has since clarified this point.--Martin IIIa (talk) 13:40, 6 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

release date

edit

Was there a local release of "Dust in the Wind" in the Midwest. I distinctly remember the song when I was about to graduate from college in 1964. It captured how I felt at the time. PatrickInMaryland (talk) 17:35, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

I doubt there was a local release 13 years before it was recorded. Blowin' in the Wind fits that timeframe...but this really isn't the place for that discussion. --Onorem (talk) 17:40, 24 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
