Wondering how to edit this U.S. County Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Counties standards might help.

Question

edit

It says Dutchess County has a Eastern border with Berkshire county. But on Berkshire County's page, it says it is a southern border. Which is correct?

Dutchess borders Berkshire County, Massachusetts to the east. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.198.81.129 (talk) 15:43, 10 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Name

Where soes the name come from ? -- Beardo (talk) 17:25, 15 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Yes, there should be something about the name included besides merely after the Duchess. I remember reading a whole article once about the how the county became D-U-T-C-H-E-S-S instead of D-U-C-H-E-S-S, but can't remember the details or where I saw it. Sound familiar? Shakespeare used both forms with and without a T. The NY county was established after the T-spelling had been around for nearly a century. check this 1899 bit for some more info: http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=F70D10F83F5512738DDDAA0A94D1405B8985F0D3 ...And of course there's Fergie. The Oblong

edit

I see nothing about the Oblong. That's a significant part of DC history and should be included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wordreader (talkcontribs) 18:43, 15 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

No government section?

edit

There are government officials mentioned. Also, no 2020 election results, in contrast to articles on counties in other states.Dogru144 (talk) 01:06, 6 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
