smallest fish of the world?

edit

sorry, the smallest fish in the world is Paedocypris progenetica, see http://news.mongabay.com/2006/0126-smallest_fish.html --Melly42 23:48, 19 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

But it is also extinct GrahamBould 08:18, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

The current statement that it is the smallest fish by mass is also incorrect. That distinction would belong to Schindleria brevipinguis at 1 mg (and this was a maximum for a gravid female!), S. praematura also may be as low as 2 mg. Note also, that P. progenetica is a freshwater fish, so P. pygmaea has been stripped of all of its former titles. --Anshelm '77 23:19, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

"Average weight is from 4 to 5 mg"

edit

Shouldn't this be "gram" rather than "milligram"? -- 85.179.171.232 10:30, 20 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
