Blacklisted Links Found on the Main Page
editCyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Copyright problem removed
editPrior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. Contested deletion

So-the page compare thingy-link was down for me, but edit summary reports a recent clean-up, and I ran it through another copyvio checker http://www.webconfs.com/similar-page-checker.php with the page and did not get a match. This looks like a good article or salvageable to merge with another if not. I rm speedy-del. TeeVeeed (talk) 19:36, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
Whole article is a copyright violation
editThis entire article is copy-pasted from various Dyno Nobel marketing materials. The lede is copy-pasted from here, the "Sustainability" section is copy-pasted from here, and the "History" section is copy-pasted from here. 2602:306:3A29:9B90:39C6:EE2A:313:BC7E (talk) 23:35, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
- I have declined the speedy deletion. I am not seeing anymore copyright violation and there doesn't seem to be anything copied directly from the sources linked. If there is still some close paraphrasing then that can be addressed without speedy deletion. If I'm missing some really obvious copyright violations then someone please point it out. Sarahj2107 (talk) 18:17, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
- This entire chunk in the lede:
- "[Dyno Nobel] has customers in the mining, quarry, construction, pipeline and geophysical exploration industries. The company operates in Australia, Canada, the United States, Africa, Indonesia, Mexico, South America, Papua New Guinea and Turkey. Dyno Nobel manufactures a full line of commercial explosives, including ammonium nitrate, bulk explosives, package emulsions, dynamite, detonators (electric, nonelectric and electronic), cast boosters, and detonating cord, as well as surface and underground loading systems [5] and Portable Modular Emulsion Plants." (Wikipedia)
- is copied word-for-word from the third from bottom paragraph here:
- "Dyno Nobel has customers in the mining, quarry, construction, pipeline and geophysical exploration industries. The company operates in Australia, Canada, the United States, Africa, Indonesia, Mexico, South America, Papua New Guinea and Turkey. Dyno Nobel manufactures a full line of commercial explosives, including ammonium nitrate, bulk explosives, packaged emulsions, dynamite, detonators (electric, nonelectric and electronic), cast boosters, and detonating cord, as well as surface and underground loading systems and Portable Modular Emulsion Plants." (Dyno Nobel press release)
- This sentence is copy-pasted from the same paragraph, with minor edits:
- "The company also offers services including blast design, shot loading, shot service, vibration control, airblast, flyrock and NOx reduction, through DynoConsult,[7] a specialist consulting division." (Wikipedia)
- "The company also offers services including blast design, shot loading, shot service, vibration control, airblast and flyrock through DynoConsult, a specialist consulting division of Dyno Nobel." (Dyno Nobel press release)
- This part of the "Environment" section is copy-pasted, with minor edits, from the left column on page 26 of this:
- "They investigated the use of recycled or renewable materials such as green waste and bio-fuels as bulking agents in explosive manufacturing, replacing virgin materials. The company conducted trials in Australia and Indonesia to incorporate waste oil into the fuel phase emulsion explosive product and researched products and blasting methods to reduce the nitrogen oxides (NOx) produced during explosive blasting activities." (Wikipedia)
- "We investigated the use of recycled or renewable materials such as green waste and bio-fuels as bulking agents in explosive manufacturing, replacing virgin materials. We conducted trials in Australia and Indonesia to incorporate waste oil into the fuel phase emulsion explosive product, one of our five sustainability keystone projects. We researched products and blasting methods to reduce the nitrogen oxides (NOx) produced during explosive blasting activities, and delivered customer training on product selection and use to reduce NOx emissions." (Dyno Nobel marketing)
- The bulk of this sentence under "Health and safety" is copy-pasted from page 10:
- "In 2012, the IPL Board and Executive Team consolidated the companies approach to workplace health and safety and developed a five-year Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) strategy designed to prevent all workplace injuries, illnesses and environmental incidents." (Wikipedia)
- "We consolidated our approach to workplace health and safety and developed a new five year Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Strategy designed to prevent all workplace injuries, illnesses and environmental incidents." (Dyno Nobel marketing)
- I can't read all of this because it's paywalled, but the last sentence that isn't paywalled shows a copy-paste in the History section too, with some minor editing:
- "The company traces its roots back to Alfred Nobel's legacy of safety innovation (as demonstrated by his 300+ patents including dynamite and blasting caps)[9] and William Bickford's invention of the safety fuse in 1831." (Wikipedia)
- "Dyno Nobel traces its roots back to Alfred Nobel's legacy of safety and innovation illustrated by his numerous patents (including dynamite and blasting caps) dating back to 1865 as well as William Bickford's invention of Safety Fuse in 1831." (Dyno Nobel press release)
- Compare also the Community section to page 16 of here:
- "IPL released its first Community Investment Framework in [2012] which established investment guidelines across its sites to include two new community investment programs – the Community Fund and Dollar for Dollar (a corporate/employee donation matching program), a constructive dialogue with the communities neighboring their major development projects in Australia and the USA, and an expanded employment program." (Wikipedia)
- "We established two new community investment programs – the Community Fund and Dollar for Dollar (a corporate/employee donation matching program). We had constructive dialogue with the communities neighbouring our major development projects in Australia and the USA." (Dyno Nobel marketing)
- And the "Recruitment and training" paragraph, vs. page 34:
- "During 2012 the number of female employees increased from 17% to 21% and five female graduates were recruited from the 2013 program, representing over a third of the total graduate intake. However, no female graduates were recruited for the 2012 program." (Wikipedia)
- "During the year, as a percentage of total hires, the number of female employees increased from 17% to 21%. We also recruited five female graduates as part of our 2013 graduate recruitment program, presenting over a third of the total graduate intake. This is significant as no female graduates were recruited for the 2012 program." (Dyno Nobel marketing) 2602:306:3A29:9B90:41BE:5F5B:81B1:ADBF (talk) 23:48, 9 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for this. I think I have removed all the copyvio now. Please let me know If I missed anything. For future reference, Speedy Deletion G12 doesn't apply when a clean version exists in the history. In this case this version and from November 2009 and earlier were not copyright violations.
