Recent Works

edit

Section on recent works is unclear and appears to be comment though I don't feel qualified to rewrite so I am just pointing it out (for now) and limiting myself to hyperlinking Dewey's name. The characterisation of Dewey as anti-curriculum seems in contradiction to the summery of Dewey's views in his own wikipedia article John Dewey where (on my reading) Dewey is described as concerend with the relationship between the child and the curriculum not abolishing curriculums. If the Recent Works section is a summery of Hirsch's view the reference to Dewey should be more explicitly linked to Hirsch's text otherwise it either needs substantiating or removing. Of course someone may feel the problem is witht the Dewey article but I still think the entry is not satisfactory as it stands.143.52.5.11 (talk) 15:05, 14 June 2012 (UTC)Reply

BarrelProof, yes, thanks for catching that. --Dr. Fleischman (talk) 07:13, 3 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Deleted from "Reviews of Hirsch's Work"

edit

I removed the opening sentence:

Since Hirsch's "Cultural Literacy" was published in the 1980s, his theories have often been embraced by political conservatives and criticized by liberals and progressives.[citation needed]

It was unsourced and unnecessarily partisan. 2601:244:4602:7D60:B0E0:7686:FFAF:6DE4 (talk) 14:55, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
