Renamed article problems

That's very strange, since I tested the code with a very similar configuration and it works fine. Is it just the "Talk:E₈ manifold" that doesn't show up, or is it the actual article name "E₈ manifold"? Well, at least the article title shows up right, and that's what counts. Unfortunately, there's not too much I can do about the watchlist issue on this end. That's garbage advice, and I'll never touch a Vista system ever unless they take out the security crap. I don't see why Wikipedia ought to conform to the highest system - should work in any system if it pretends to be an encyclopedia for everyone. Tom Ruen (talk) 21:30, 6 July 2008 (UTC)

You don't have to upgrade to Windows Vista to use Wikipedia. Vista is one option because it includes improvements that enable any web browser running on it to display this article's title properly, but it is by no means the only or even the best solution.

The problem is that unfortunately, due to the historically splintered and uneven nature of web browser development, it is very difficult for us to accommodate every browser ever made. It is especially difficult for us to completely accommodate Internet Explorer because Microsoft did not do any meaningful development on IE between 2001 and 2006, leaving IE far behind other browsers even today.

Here's what I recommend: give Firefox a shot. Firefox is a relatively small free download, includes automatic spell check (a must-have for me, since I edit Wikipedia frequently), is much faster than Internet Explorer, and has no trouble displaying article titles like this one. Change in the theorem date.

I took the liberty of changing the year of the discovery of the theorem to 1887 (instead of 1982) according to this: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/connected/main.jhtml?xml=/connected/2007/03/19/ecpattern19.xml

If you believe it is incorrect, please revise it as needed.

Lisi theory -> "E8 theory"

At Talk:An_Exceptionally_Simple_Theory_of_Everything#Requested_move some editors apparently not acquainted with E₈ in other contexts are proposing to move that article to "E8 theory", which I feel would be ambiguous and giving Garrett Lisi's theory excessive weight.
