I intend to keep the Winton-engined switchers in here until we have enough material for separate articles, which I don't think we do, yet. —Morven 06:01, Jan 7, 2005 (UTC)

Hmm, do we now?

Will the Winton-engined switchers go into a new EMC category? Or is that too confusing for the average reader? --SSW9389 10:23, 16 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Just a historian's note here, but all GM locomotives built prior to 1941 were built by the Electro-Motive Corporation (EMC). The Electro-Motive Division (EMD) was formed on January 1, 1941 with the merger of the Winton Engine Company with EMC.

There is an error on the page. The quantity stated for SC locomotives is 42 and there are 43 numbers listed. The quantity stated for SW locomotives is 77 and there were 75 listed until I found that B&O #199 was missing. Now there are 76 SWs listed. The overall count between SC and SWs is still 119.--SSW9389 (talk) 23:52, 4 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
