Compound cuneiform characters
editVarieties exist of enclosing a cuneiform, established character into a separate cuneiform character. I chose the word "cuneiform-compound" not totally knowing if there is a proper, or established defining word for these characters.
It should be noted that computerized forms of a character in a database require a standard format: the actual usage on a letter will be composed of varieties, therefor, especially for more complex characters.
Another interesting cuneiform-compound comes to mind, part of the spelling for the town of "Gasru"-Gezer-(Gaza was named Hazzatu in the Amarna letters): "gaz" is the character used-(108 in Hittite, or 192 on an Akkadian-Parpola list) (from the SonoranDesert-hothothot of arizonaUSA...)...Mmcannis (talk) 16:27, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
