Types of chips

edit

Forgive my english, but would the word "Both" not fit better? "...CGA-1 (Coax Gate Array) which contained both a IBM 3270 (coax) communications and a AS/400..."instead of "...CGA-1 (Coax Gate Array) which contained booth IBM 3270 (coax) communications, AS/400..." CodeAsm (talk CodeAsm)

It now says "It contains IBM 3270 (coax) and IBM 5250 (Twinax) communications.", which lacks "both" and "booth". Guy Harris (talk) 04:38, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

SOC

edit

Isn't this more of a "system on a chip" than just a processor? 82.174.247.125 (talk) 09:54, 17 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Currently, the only device that the page refers to as a (micro)processor is the CGA-1 and, if it "contains IBM 3270 (coax) and IBM 5250 (Twinax) communications" in the sense that it has hardware to support the link layer of 3270 and 5250 communications, then, yes, it sounds like an SoC. (According to system on a chip, the chip doesn't have to contain all "components of a computer or other electronic system", just most of them.) Guy Harris (talk) 04:44, 27 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
