This refers to the Cork barony of Clanwilliam, not the Tipperary barony of Calnwilliam. The referral from Tipperary should be removed. Laurel Lodged (talk) 21:09, 2 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

I accept that the above comment is wrong - it refers to Tipperary.Laurel Lodged (talk) 20:11, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

I disagree that the note is not necessary. The article "Clanwilliam" directs to a town in South Africa. I don't think that this would be the intent of most people. The barony predates all other towns and fish species by hundreds of years. It is entitled to a first place, but this was "robbed" by the South African town. The note is clearly necessary. I propose to undo this deletion unless somebody can convince me otherwise. Laurel Lodged (talk) 20:11, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

See my reply at Talk:Clanwilliam, barony, Tipperary. A reader visiting the page Earl of Clanwilliam is not likely to expect to find any of the other various Clanwilliams. - htonl (talk) 22:02, 6 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Bizarrely enough, if the official announcements in the London Gazette are to be believed, whilst the Viscountcy and Barony of Clanwilliam do seem to be "Viscount Clanwilliam, in the County of Tipperary" and "Baron Clanwilliam, of Clanwilliam in the County of Tipperary", the Earldom is apparently "Earl of Clanwilliam, in the County of Corke".
