editIs there an heir to the Baronetcy? Proteus (Talk) 18:12, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
13th earl?
editI have removed this from the article as it had no sources:
- Donald William Perceval, 13th Earl of Egmont (1954-) Donald William Perceval was adopted by Frederick George Moore Perceval thus making him the next in line. If this claim is ommitted, then Frederick George Moore Perceval's grandsons Lindsey and Morgan Ard (by his daughter Elizabeth Anne Perceval) would be the next inheritees.
My impression was that the title couldn't be inherited by an adopted son, or by cousins through the female line. Anyone know different?Southdevonian (talk) 10:39, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
- No, you're correct. Adopted sons cannot inherit, and this is not a title that can pass through the female line. It is now extinct. Proteus (Talk) 18:40, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
baronetcy
edit“ | As of 13 June 2007, the present holder of the earldom has not successfully proven his succession to the baronetcy and is therefore not on the Official Roll of the Baronetage. However, the case is under review by the Registrar of the Baronetage (for more information follow this link). | ” |
Is there another claimant to the baronetcy? Or should this passage be changed to something like this?:
- The 12th and last Earl never succeeded in proving his claim to the baronetcy, which is also now presumed extinct.
