Talk:Early warning score

The table is ambiguous. For Systolic BP it gives a score of 3 for <70 and a score of 2 for 71-80. Hence the score for a blood pressure of 70 is not defined. I would modify this but don't know the official definition. Should it read 3 for <=70, or 3 for < 70 and 2 for 70-80. This happens for Heart Rate as well Alan1507 (talk) 10:53, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT) Guidelines 2011

edit

Unfortunately the LTHT Guidlines do not indicate the threshold which would indicate admission to an intensive care unit. Based on The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust "Resuscitation Policy" Version 3 November 2009 http://www.leedsteachinghospitals.com/sites/equality/documents/ResuscitationPolicy.pdf (page 112, Appendix L Mews Score Chart) "If MEWS greater than 10 contact Patients own Consultant, Outreach team and ICU Directly", that score would appear to be 10 but I'd rather an expert modify this. Redirect needed?

edit

I just search Wikipedia for "Early warning score" but did not get this page. Found this via a general web search. Not knowing the full name, I never would have used the term "modified" anywhere, so perhaps that's a good case for adding a redirect for "Early warning score" and similar? --194.176.105.153 (talk) 14:28, 5 December 2012 (UTC)Reply

I have simply moved the article to "Early warning score", and "Modified early warning score" now redirects here. JFW | T@lk 22:20, 16 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Examples from specific hospitals

edit

I think the examples from Leeds and Wellington are not useful, and should be removed. Any objections? JFW | T@lk 22:20, 16 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

I have WP:BOLD as there is absolutely no reason to list individual scores from individual hospitals here. We are now in an era where we should only be discussing scores in widespread use. JFW | T@lk 09:42, 12 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

Error in spelling

Withing 24 hours? Shouldn't it be "within" 24 hours?
