EAST CORK IS REALLY COOL LIKE! from SPARKY THE DOG!
Yacht Club
editAccording to the Royal Cork Yacht Club page, the club is located in Crosshaven. According to this page, East Cork is the coastline stretching from Cobh to Youghal, which doesn't include Crosshaven. What shall we do about this, increase the size of East Cork or ditch the yacht club? (And yes, I'm well aware they can sail over there if they want to!)
Joking aside, though, is there any actual reliable source defining what exactly "East Cork" encompasses, or is this a vague description like "the orient"? Wasechun tashunkaHOWLTRACK 17:43, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hi. A fair point. The inclusion of the RCYC seems to be incidental ("Parts of Cork Harbour are in East Cork", "Cork Harbour is home to the RCYC"). While the article text doesn't actually seem to claim that the RCYC is in East Cork, a reader might assume that is the intent. Personally I would advocate removing that fragment. Not least as the only real statutory definition of East Cork (the Corporation Municipal District of East Cork) overtly doesn't include Crosshaven. (Crosshaven and the RCYC is in the Bandon-Kinsale Municipal District). It is also worth perhaps noting that Cobh and Fota are not in the East Cork Municipal District, but in the Cobh - Glanmire MD. - I agree that Crosshaven is not located in East Cork — Preceding unsigned comment added by IrishJ123 (talk • contribs) 18:34, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
