Merge proposal

edit

In accordance with [1] the Wikipedia notes on writing about settlements, one of the recommendations is that, in order to reduce the number of stubs, villages and other settlements within a civil parish should be in one article. Hence the proposal that the Friston article be merged with this one: I have in fact transferred the one fact (re the church) here already Peter Shearan (talk) 05:50, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merge Birling Gap

edit

For the same reasons as above, reducing the number of small articles, I propose we moved Birling gap here. MortimerCat (talk) 01:05, 11 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

National Trust

edit

The National Trust, who own the hotel at Birling Gap,closed the hotel on 20th. April 2010 and hope to reopen in June as a National Trust shop and interperation/education room. There will also be the sort of catering offered at other N.T. establishments.

The terrace of five homes at the Gap were at the start the homes of the Coastguard station. When the station closed the then eight properties became privately owned homes.Over time the three seaward houses have been lost to cliff falls. The addresses are numbers three to seven Crangon Cottages and they are all occupied. They were never "fishermens cottages" even if one or two residents may have had a fishing rod at times! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.29.53.103 (talk) 16:17, 5 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
