G'day, I will review this one. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 06:18, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- Comments
- no duplicate links, ext links all work, no dabs, but I have a couple of suggestions: AustralianRupert (talk) 06:50, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- the link to John McCauley in the infobox is a redirect and could be re-aimed
- Hmm, that was an old link...
- is John Summers notable enough to be linked?
- Well he didn't make two-star, but he did command a couple of large formations, i.e. Eastern and North-Eastern Areas, so he probably qualifies at least as much as Lachal, who someone else decided to stub. I hadn't bothered redlinking or creating Summers (or Lachal) simply because they don't seem to have attracted the same amount of copy that others of similar rank and pedigree (like Frank Lukis) have. So, short answer is, I don't mind redlinking him but until say he gets an ADB entry I wouldn't expect to see much of an article on him (well not from me, anyway, as I think there are military bios with higher priorities out there)!
- It's not a warstoper, ultimately. Happy to leave as is for the timebeing. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 13:06, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- the images seem appropriate for the article, and they appear to be appropriately licenced and captioned
- the article is well referenced to reliable sources and could find anything that appeared to be original research
- overall, the article seems broad in its coverage, but I have one minor suggestion: AustralianRupert (talk) 06:50, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- "Following the outbreak of World War II, the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) began to decentralise its command structure, commensurate with expected increases in manpower and units..." Perhaps the situation prior to the war could be clarified, e.g. what did the centralised command structure look like? This probably wouldn't need much more than a sentence, I think
- Fair enough, done -- and I guess I'll be putting it in all the other area command articles now... ;-)
- Looks good, thanks. AustralianRupert (talk) 13:06, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- overall, the article seems quite well written, but I have the following suggestions: AustralianRupert (talk) 06:50, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- "US flying units into Fifth Air Force..." --> "US flying units into the Fifth Air Force"?
- I think the former was okay but changed.
- the last couple of sentences in the paragraph starting "Anderson handed over command of Eastern..." seem a little awkward as they don't seem to flow together
- I get that but not sure of the solution -- if I just added another sentence or so to the aborted search for the U-Boat do you think that'd do the trick?
- Yes, that would do it, I think. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) 13:06, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- Okay, that's done now hopefully. Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 15:07, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, that looks good, Ian. Thanks, AustralianRupert (talk) 00:15, 16 August 2015 (UTC)
- "delegated by the CAS" --> I might have missed it, but this abbreviation doesn't seem to have been formally introduced
- Oops!
- the article seems stable, is not subject to edit wars and seems neutral in its approach. AustralianRupert (talk) 06:50, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
- Tks as always for reviewing, Rupert! Cheers, Ian Rose (talk) 11:15, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
