Since this region has been the setting of a number of the popular Louise Penny mysteries, there should be a "In Popular Culture" section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.164.142.49 (talk) 15:09, 2 August 2017 (UTC)

editI have copied this information into Estrie. Doesn't it make more sense there? Wetman 17:15, 24 Dec 2003 (UTC)
- I think it's good to have it at both places, as Estrie is a fairly new creation, and the Eastern Townships are very well known and often referenced, especially in the anglophone community.
There is no mention of where the 'Western Townships' are. Andrew Luimes70.24.71.154 21:15, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
Map
editThanks for leaving it here. I would never have found it under Estrie. A better map with some of the towns and rivers marked would be very helpful. Ben 10:52, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
Conrad Black
editI put the comment on Conrad Black in this section because he got his start in this area and is therefore a "notable inhabitant." I didn't want to make too much of it (downfall) because it would appear to be undue weight, which I abhor.
Also, I didn't invest the comment on the composition of the area. It was a quote. It might not belong in demographics but probably belongs somewhere unless you can come up with a better one. Perhaps the writer meant the Anglophones. I don't know what was in his mind. You were annoyed but most areas don't have spontaneous summaries that are interesting like that, accurate or not. It makes the article unique. Student7 (talk) 20:23, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- Again someone didn't like Conrad Black. The man is just not very popular lately.

Paul Martin
editDuring the October 28, 2008 episode of the Rick Mercer Report, Mercer visits Former Prime Minister Paul Martin at his farm in the Eastern Townships. [1]. Certainly a notable resident to include on the page. Other searches say Mr. Martin resides, more specifically, in Brome. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.38.194.130 (talk) 15:04, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
