Move to "Deer mouse"?

I thought there was a policy that article titles should be the most widely recognised name. This article actually states that these animals are most commonly known as deer mice. Should we consider a move/re-titling?__DrChrissy (talk) 09:23, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

I realise this is very late but to clarify for anyone wondering in the future.... "deer mouse" is a common term that can apply to multiple species, such as P. leucopus, in addition to P. maniculatus, among others. So it is best to keep it under the scientific name. If there is confusion, the intro instructs people " "Deer mouse" redirects here. For a broader category of rodents which includes other deer mouse species, see Neotominae. "Deer mouse" redirects here. For the species often called deer mouse, see Peromyscus maniculatus." which should clarify things. if people can't follow links, then... IDK. Hello @Docindy01: this edit did not quite work. The way this works is more automatic than that: You do not need to do the <sup>[31]</sup> yourself. You should simply put the refs where you want them. WP then does the rest. Invasive Spices (talk) 3 December 2021 (UTC)
