Hello everyone, I am working for the International Trade Centre (ITC). I would like to propose the addition of an external link that could lead directly to the specific country’s trade data held by ITC. I would like you to consider this link under the WP:ELYES #3 prescriptions. Moreover, the reliability and the pertinence of this link can be supported by the following facts 1) ITC is part of the United Nations 2) No registration is required 3) Trade data (imports/exports) are regularly updated 4) The link gives direct access to the trade database of the specific country 5) The addition of reliable trade data to the Economy section of the country could provide an appropriate contribution to the information therein contained. Thank you for your attention.Divoc (talk) 19:21, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bias?

edit

The section of this Article entitled "After Independence" appears to have a strong bias against the Cabral government and for the IMF/neo-liberal capitalist model.

Firstly, the section on war crimes serves no purpose here except to tarnish the Government. I am not questioning that the crimes occurred, but they don't seem to need discussion in the economics section.

The discussion of the post-war economics seems to attribute any growth to the IMF/World Bank, inflating their impact by ignoring other elements (in particular, the most important one: there was not an active war going on).

Finally, this is one of the poorest countries in the world and the discussion of the post-war economic situation, which focuses upon the success of the IMF/World Bank policy does not encompass this. The article ought to examine why, in the 14 years since the war, there has been no major changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aebrynis (talkcontribs) 01:00, 23 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Treemap Extremely Inaccurate

edit

The treemap on this page (and on the main Guinea-Bissau page) is very inaccurate. It indicates 93% of exports are nuts. Meanwhile, the original webpage associated with the cited source of the treemap shows a very different picture.

I don't quite have time to work out how to export a new image, import it into wikimedia, include the legend as it appears on the commons page, etc. But it's a big difference and merits attention.
