I tried to create an article somewhat similar to the Economy of California. If you notice any errors or you want to add more information, feel free to do so. (Eddie 17:49, 9 July 2006 (UTC))
State GSP comparisons
Calculation of GSP is not controversial, so the discussion of it's calculation is not necessary. The 2005 data is old so the relative rankings have changed. The main Texas article includes the following in the Economy section:
- "Texas had a gross state product (GSP) of $1.09 trillion, the second highest in the U.S.[128][129] Its GSP is comparable to the GDP of India or Canada which are ranked 12th and 11th worldwide. Texas's economy is the third largest in the world of country subdivisions behind California and Tokyo Prefecture."
That would seem to cover the topic adequately. Would anyone object if I removed the entire "Texas' Gross State Product" section from this article?
Fortune 500
There are two data of the amount of Fortune 500 companies on Texas, "In 2006, Texas was home to six of the top 50 companies on the Fortune 500 list and 56 overall, more than any other state" and then "Texas has the highest number of Fortune 500 company headquarters in the United States, fifty-eight.[5]" i don't think it is neccesary. Even, if you go to the link, you will realize that there are even more, so if somebody could change it to improve the article. I'm not going to change it, because my primary language is not english, so i could make some mistakes. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.253.225.26 (talk) 12:41, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
